This season 21/22 is far the most disappointing season at Wilmot . Even the last yer with all that Covid restrictions was a perfect season. I Am not sure if the Epic cut the budget drastically or if it is poor management, but at the end there is nothing but disappointment and frustration. Start of season as always poor at Wilmot. That means they start with two lifts and then justwaiting how many people come. They underestimated the weather - they did not make snow while they could. Then the warmer weather arrived. There are so many people at two opened lifts. The Alpine Valley was fully open with no problem. Funny thing is that get to the restaurant You must show proof of full vacation, but at lift they force people to sit together there! I have no problem with that personally, but I understand that some ones may have. When You complain, they let You talk with some manager that keep telling You lies about how they couldn’t make snow and assuring You how they not trying to be cheep. But truth is they are. It started with that , but it continues. You pay a lot of money for Epic season pass, but service is poor. They cut the open hours. They used to be open till 11 PM, last two? Years till 9 PM. This season they cut it till 8 PM. No worries You paid in advance for full season and You have been robed by hour, who cares? Not enough? No worries misery continues. I’ve Never met at hill so many disappointed people. And people start to complain a lot. How they solved situation? No problem, let’s blame the Covid. They provide the statement that they have problem to find people for work. Maybe pay good money would solve the problem ( funny how with this situation deal other resorts nearby?). But it is not the end, the newest trend is that lift number I think 5? Is being closed last Sunday and today Friday 1/21/22 again. You say no problem there is open another five or six lifts so what? The problem with that is that two best runs for carving and some better skiing are out of reach because of that lift being closed. And that is what I said at beginning, they not skiers friendly anymore. At evenings ski hardworking people who can’t come during the day and also skiers who want to ski and avoid crowds and kids and beginners and other obstacles. But by cutting opening by hour many people ride hour and more to get to Wilmot, but they not able to ski two three hours because of that. And with that chair being closed to often lately good skiers did not left any better runs to ski. So for me it looks like message to people who loves to ski, don’t come go someplace else. Milos
Úsek to be some, but not any more
This is not skier friendly place anymore

pre covid, it wasn't a bad place. It was the closest thing to the Chicago land suburbs. The runs are short and can be icy but it was close enough. Given their current protocol with covid (ropes everywhere, passport required, no open bar, no fireplaces) its become a very depressing place and not worth the money. Head up a bit farther to alpine where the runs are longer and the staff is friendlier
Closest hill to Chicago land area
long lines, covid ropes everywhere, passport required

I personally think that Wilmot is a great start for beginners, however they majorly underestimate you and your skills, they usually don’t bring you on the mountain until level 3, which is a major con. It is a very easy mountain, and doesn’t offer an overnight stay. On Wilmot road, there is a tubing hill. Which I would rate 5 stars. They have a wide variety of food at the resort, and a cozy little sports barn for apre ski.
Gives beginners a great start

February 2nd Saturday 2021 What started as a miserable day thru no fault other than my own was eclipsed fully by the service and kindness above and beyond any customer can expect of a vail resort associate. She truly saved my days experience on the slopes and to a large extent my safety. It was an extremely cold morning and unfortunately in my haste to suit up for the slopes behind my SUV I got out of my car and the wind blew my door shot and locked myself out of my car with my keys, cell phone in the car. Embarrassing to say that I was not wearing my jacket yet and was merely wearing inner garments and a normal shirt. I was bitterly cold. Fortunately for me, Jennifer Smith, an employee at Wilmot Vail resort happened to be walking the lot when I approached her and she immediately offered assistance to use her cell phone and call for assistance. She wanted to make sure I could stay warm and be safe. I am 2 hours from home and calling the wife for extra keys or calling AAA car service in a remote area is challenging. I decided to call Triple A car service and unfortunately they would require tracking and a call back from the person making the call. Recognizing this dilemma, she did not hesitate to offer that I keep her phone, a total stranger to her, so that I can catch or anticipate the call back from Triple A. This ordeal lasted 4 hours and throughout this time period, she periodically checked on my situation out of concern for my safety and wellbeing that day. She offered me a cup of coffee thinking that I did not have funds to buy one. 4 hours later, Triple A service arrived and I returned her phone. I ended up enjoying the slopes for the rest of the afternoon. The condition of slopes and the organization of folks on the lifts were nothing short of exemplary as well. Jennifer’s customer assistance overshadowed what would have otherwise been a horrible experience. It was as if I did not have a mishap at all. Wilmot, a relatively small neighborhood ski resort rivals the service quality that I would expect from bigger Colorado vail resorts. I am from Chicago but will continue to be an Epic pass holder. Kudos to your mountain condition, praises to you service!! Angel Vargas

Wilmot was an icon of a ski bump. What it didn't have in vertical it made up in charm. It is now as appealing as a hospital waiting room. Sterile, boring, and generic. So sad, but Alpine Valley still exists.
It still exists

Why is it that this specific resort is unable to anticipate and/or make snow!?
It is so disappointing to not read a single positive review.
It is enlightening to not read a single positive review.

I have skied at Wilmot for over 50 years. I am so profoundly disappointed in what happened for the 2018-2019 season. I cant imagine anyone more excited than me when Vail bought this resort and saved it from being a history footnote. Congrats to the corp who made all the improvements in the lifts, the lighting and the runs in 2017, but 2018-2019 was an embarrassment. Wilmot was last resort to open in area. For some reason they didn't blow early and then after 2 1/2 weeks of cold weather, they finally opened to a warm snap and rain and had to close again. I am guessing that the best run, Stateline, was open for around 2-3 weeks all season. Did you even blow snow over there? The Sledding hill didn't open until mid-late January. What the heck? Who ran this place this year? Was there a water shortage that prevented you from getting open and having the entire resort covered in snow? Lastly, seriously, cant you have a better webcam on your site? You point one camera at the deadest area of the resort. It never got me pumped up to want to be there. The food and beverage was fine and the facilities are greatly improved Profoundly disappointed with the management of the hill this year.

Wilmont is not a mountain its a hill . Stop points are very small or short distance which can be dangerous on a crowded day . If you want a great experience pick a weekday or week night to ski and the hill is yours to roam . Staff is friendly and courteous which is a plus but for a weekend excursion go to Alpine which is 25 minutes north .
Its a quick fix if you need to ski
