Jeff Rondham

I have shreaded and skied from Alaska to New Mexico and find myself returning to Mt Baker when I am able to do so again and again.
Still holds record for snow fall
No mass transit to the mountain

Even with the price spike for 2022 still one of the best value mountains in the PNW. Easy traffic up to the mountain, gets busy but not like the other mountains closer to Seattle that run the risk of turning you away from the parking lot. Generally smaller scale and you can cover most all the mountain in a day but the soft snow and side runs make it fun to revisit the runs over and over a gain. Also this year the kitchens stepped up their game, maybe the best food and drink on any WA mountain.
consistent snow, big powder dumps. Snowboard friendly with tons of good off piste and fun back country.
Older lifts, just be ready for the quick hop off.

This is my favorite resort for the money. I get a full day in with just a few repeat runs on the best long slopes. Lots of variety in a smaller resort. Snow is usually very plentiful. Food service is usually crowded though. Classes were very good when I switched to snow board.
Chill with great slope options for smaller resort
Can get slammed with crowds weekends.

First time to Baker after a snowy Nov. Parking still good at 8:45am. Roads plowed and sanded perfectly. Covid precautions in effect, but everyone was cool about it. Blue Bird Powder Day, amazing conditions. Grooming great for those who need that. Tickets are $67 for an adult full day at the window. No corporate passholder gimmicks, no price fixing, No VAIL or ALTERRA. Can't say how much I appreciate the owners of this operation fighting off these greed vultures. This mountain is best suited for Intermediate to Advanced Skiers/Boarders. Not really a place for Noobs and Suburbanite Family Gapers. Cell reception is great now. There is no terrain park that I could find. You need a beacon and gear for upper backcountry areas. Loved the challenging canyons and wide open powder areas. I will drive the extra distance to shred this mountain over the formerly known mountain of Stevens Pass anytime.
Best place for powder after a storm

This uncrowded small town feel resort is perfect for the layed back skier/snowboarder. When I say layed back I don’t mean slow, or non competitive type athlete I just mean it’s a chill mountain. If you are looking for consistent dry powder and a night life resort stick to the classic interior big resorts in Utah, Colorado , ect...
Small Local Feel, good beer, affordable lift tickets and NO LIFT LINES...
Costal resort =‘s potential wet snow

MT Baker has some of the best terrain out there, in bounds and out. To all these people complaining about the resort go to whistler or Vail if you want nightlife, its here to hit some of the sickest powder and hangout with good friends and people. Also to the person complaining about the staff, I would be shocked if they were that rude, they are all very nice and almost like a tight knit group of friends.
Some of the best terrain right off the life
Apparently alot of people reviewing it were expecting whistler

Super slow lifts that don’t open up much terrain. Very packed for how far it is and dangerous The drive is. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.
Really slow lifts
Even shorter runs

The drive is treacherous and the ski area is horrible. Flat, boring terrain and hardly any snow at all not sure why anyone would ski here. Save yourself the headache and go Stevens Pass or Crystal Mt.

Every other ski resort I’ve been to will at least give you 10% off to come back the following day when conditions are bad... and today was the worst day I’ve been out in... I’ve been skiing for 27 years... was rather disappointed that no one offered to help or grab a supervisor to help the situation... I’ll likely stick to California, Utah, and Wyoming snow Cuz it’s just not worth is to ski here with that kind of treatment... not interested in coming back...
High elevation
Terrible conditions and mediocre staff
