3 forskellige sektorer, fin snekvalitet
Lange liftkøer

Very reasonable lift tickets (esp on promotion, we were here for international ski day! Which also meant pretty long lines but I heard it’s usually not as crowded) Powdery snow. I’m a novice skier on my second season, with most New England Hills I can comfortable do green slopes (sometimes even a little bored). I came to Stoneham and I felt that while the snow was beautifully soft (vs ice in a lot other New England hills without natural snow fall) the green runs are quite strange it goes between very flat or even uphill part (people were walking sideways up it) and very steep portion that is worthy of definite blue.... and there was a green trail that I turned onto that only ended in blue or black or double black....very strange system and definitely tests you mentally and physically as a novice-ish skier... while my husband who is a very skilled skier enjoyed this mountain a lot, for beginners out there like me. Just be prepared for some challenges....
Great quality snow for east coast skiing. Very little ice. Good lifts
Difficulty is higher than some others

I liked the set-up at Stoneham. The place feels like your are out in the middle of nowhere, but you are 20 minutes from Quebec city. We went on a Friday during the day and it was pretty quiet. No line ups for lifts or food. Lots of places to store your stuff. One of the lifts was down so we couldn't really get to one part of the hill. The mountian is quite a bit smaller than Mont Ste. Anne, but they are related hills, so you can use their Loyalty-type Card there. The kids liked going through the green glades area, but it was too easy to get out-of-bounds and end up on the wrong trail (like my 6 year old did). They should use more snow fencing to guide people in the glade. I liked their rating system. Blues felt like blues, not blacks, even though they had icy parts. They have some great long cruising greens. It was a bit more interesting than straight down skiing. I'd go back.
Well run. Quick to get on the slopes, Family menu in the cafeteria, microwaves available for boxed lunches

We just got back from three days skiing in Stoneham, Quebec. We are from Dallas and wanted to find an uncrowded ski resort in Canada that was good for our family to go on Spring Break and we could use our American Airlines frequent flyer miles to get there. We could not find many reviews and thought we would write one to help out others. This resort is 20 minutes north of Quebec City. We would highly recommend staying downtown for a few days before or after skiing in Stoneham. The resort is 326 acres of skiiable area, so it is not as large as many other resorts. There are three areas of the mountain to ski. The one in the center is the high speed quad lift and the one on the right hand side is a slower lift to the more extreme black runs with the exception of one blue run. There are multiple terrain parks along several of the runs. When we were there, we found that most other skiers were locals and very experienced. We arrived the week following the local Spring Break which helped with the not being crowded. I would classify us as once per year beginner/intermediate skiers with the exception of my son who is 14 and can comfortable ski some black runs. He was happy with the variety and plays around in the terrain parks a little. We found the overall feel of the resort extremely layed back. I personally can't image trying to learn to ski there, in that the bunny slope and the next one up is very steep and would have terrified me when I was first learning. I am a very cautious skier. There is very little apres-ski activities, but you can always drive 20 minutes and get to Quebec City if you like. The area is beautiful and we would also recommend going to the Hotel de Glace (Ice), and the Valcartier snow park, which was the largest winter playground I have ever seen. We spent an entire day there at the end of our trip. Overall, we really liked Stoneham and would go back to the area again, but maybe next time we will try St. Anne or Mont Tremblant.
Uncrowded, polite, safety conscious
Not good for first time skiiers
Ski condition are excellent. A lot of natural snow, with trail non groomed, that's ski should be. Après Ski is fun, restaurant are excellent spécialy le feu folet, having fun at the bar is really easy. A great place to spend a ski vacation.
I went to Stoneham in March on a college roadtrip from FL. The mountain was well maintained with trails for all abilities. The parks were perfect and empty. The resort however only had one hotel with a small bar (which was not open). It seemed like a ghost town which made for great riding. We ended up going into Quebec City everynight which was better then hanging out in any resort. The city is a short drive and has plenty to do. We spent 2 days at Mt. Sainte Anne and 2 days at Stoneham. It was a great trip. Worth the 30 hour drive!
