Når sneen er god, er der intet bedre sted at være. Når vinden bliver ujævn, og andre bjerge holder sig på is, er Homewood stadig god. Hvis du leder efter frisk puddersne, har dette sted det langt efter, at andre også er blevet fundet. Et fantastisk sted at stå på ski! Terrænet er fantastisk med nogle sjove, udfordrende ting samt god træskiløb. På en pudderdag har du friske sneliner hele dagen og altid gode ting en dag eller to senere, mens de fleste andre bjerge bliver fundet på et par timer. Selvom de fleste lifter er langsommere, kompenserer manglen på køer/folkemængder bestemt for det. Løjperne er rimelig lange og bedre end mange andre bjerge. Bedst af alt, selv når det er "overfyldt", har dette sted været mindre travlt end de fleste andre på en rolig dag. Til dato har jeg ikke ventet mere end et minut, bogstaveligt talt, i en liftkø. Udsigt over søen hele dagen også. Selvom der ikke er den samme mængde, størrelsesmæssigt sammenlignet med andre, er kvaliteten let til stede.

While the mountain is small, it's underrated and a great way to avoid the Tahoe madness.
Best place to go when Tahoe gets dumped on, avoid the nonsense over at Palisades and Heavenly and get your freshies in all day at Homewood.
I've had my best tahoe days at Homewood, great way to check out a new resort and avoid the crowds.

I love this place. Have skied it for the last 5 yrs on our annual Tahoe trip.

Just about anything off Ellis Chair is comparable to my fav runs at Kirkwood. (But kwood is a 2 hr drive from where we stay in Carnellian Bay ☹️, so we choose Homewood.
On a powder day, if you're trying to avoid the crowds at Palisades, Alpine, and Northstar... look no further than the west shore of Homewood.

As of 2-13-21 the snow depth at the peak of homewood was 146 inches at the peak (7900 ft) while the snow depth at the base was 94 inches (6200 ft). Both of these numbers are definitely embellished. The season total is 183 inches at the peak, and 111 inches at the base. Total snowfall in California usually compresses to about half its depth. Therefore, the true depth of snow at Homewood is likely 90 inches at the peak, and 55 inches at the base. Additionally, there have been several warm weeks during this winter with lots of melting. Nearby squaw valley is reporting 63 inches at the base (6200 ft) and 105 at the peak (8200 ft).Northstar, also nearby, has an 80 inch base depth (at 8600 ft) and a 34 inch base depth at the bottom (6200 ft). With so little total snowfall, and such a deep base compared to other regional mountains, it is clear that the snow depth of Homewood Mountain Resort is EMBELLISHED.

Management is horrible and price is far too expensive. Experience will not change because of conditions. Resort refuses to put $ back in to the place, just wants to line pockets of the higher ups. Unfortunate because amazing views and decent tree riding. Also friendly employees.

I live in Tahoe full time and use to ski Homewood about 3-5 times a season back in the 1990's. I hadn't been back there in decades, but decided to ski there again for old-times sake last Saturday. I was hugely disappointed.
The Ellis Chairlift is essential to the mountain because it is the only way to get from one base to the other without taking a bus. Well, the chair appears to be completely out of commission with no sign of any attempts to get it back working this season. As a result of the chair being down there is really only one chair that is worth skiing, and even that is generous because that chair only serves a few blue runs. All the skiers are skiing the same few blue runs and then waiting in line for the same lift to do it all over again.
To make matters worse, Homewood is charging almost $160 for a day pass. Just for comparison, I was able to buy a 4-day pass at Squaw Valley over President's Day weekend for only $369, and I can use those 4 days any time I want. Who ever thought Squaw would be so much cheaper that Homewood????
Lastly, Homewood has the feel of being run like it is getting ready to go broke. They aren't putting any money back in to the mountain. In terms of comparing it to a resort of equivalent size, I'd much rather go to Diamond Peak any day of the week.

My family has a house in Tahoe City that has been in the family since the 60’s. My family and I have been frequenting Homewood since I was a child or for the last 35+ years, and I have always loved it. This year I thought it would be a good time for me to get my 3 little boys to my favorite spot to teach them how to snowboard. I taught for 4 years at Northstar while going through college at UNR. So I paid for lift tickets for me and my three boys online for Monday, December 30th, with nothing on the website telling me that the tiny magic carpet at the bottom of the mountain was going to be the only thing open for them. Both rope tows were down for “routine maintenance”, yet I didn’t see anyone working on them. I was very disappointed and would have been able to get the same or very similar experience at the free public sled hill by our house in Tahoe city. I paid about $450 stayed for about 3 hours and never even had an opportunity to strap my board on fully. The magic carpet is so small there is barely an opportunity to get one turn in before having unlatch get in line again. Very inefficient, ineffective and not a fun way to learn the sport in my opinion. I tried to bring it up to the manager on duty (unfortunately I didn’t catch his name) but he didn’t seem like my concern was valid and wasn’t interested hearing me out or that he even cared that I was disappointed. In the short time we were there I can also say that I spoke with 4 or 5 other groups that were very disappointed for the exact same reasons. I provided this input to the resort on two separate occasions and didn’t get any reply whatsoever. I won’t be back, nor will my family and friends who I will be sharing this experience with. Don’t want anyone else wasting their money and ruining an experience for young skiers/boarders like we did.
